The consensus of experts seems to be that this is a 1962 model (rather than 1963 as was first advertised), as evidenced by the slab board. Thanks to the many who have written in! You are bidding on a 1962 Fender Stratocaster. On consignment.....owner reports this one had a body refin. and the neck was clear coated. It is all top-grade work...none finer. Top-level refin is perfect in historical accuracy and quality. There is evidence on the neck that at one point the original clear coat was partially worn through...this is slightly visible even with a new clear coat having been oversprayed...again, it is VERY fine work. Vintage excellent condition...The guitar has strong frets, an excellent rosewood board, naturally aged plastic, original tuners...no extra holes, original pickups and much of the wiring, and original bridge/saddles. Headstock edges are vey good and neck has no serious doinks or dings...serious flame in the neck.....extremely strong player with beauty-pageant looks! Here are the parts I believe to be non-original: Allen screws in saddles are newer. A few springs/screws that hold the saddles have been changed. 2 pots (I believe the third is original and shows 63 date); 2 pickup height adjustement screws; pickguard. Please examine the pics carefully - and ask questions - before bidding...the price will not be re-negotiated AFTER the purchase. Case has some natural relic wear...edges need a little restoration work (regluing) but no damage. Missing one hasp (top of latch). Case is in good original condition but I think is a good candidate for just a little restoration work on some edges to strengthen it (we can do that for you - it is up to the buyer). Serious strong example of early mid 60s Fender quality. Shipping to usa 195 insured ups. USA ONLY
