Description
A fine old italian Ferrara violin A very fine original old Italian violin, The instrument is a fine and rare Ferrara master instrument from around 1930. The size is a fullsize, the bodylength is 36,0 cm. The beautiful italian model is slim and elegant. The violin is built from wonderful woods: the top of regular medium-fine grained spruce, the two piece back of gorgeous italian maple. The graceful scroll and the elegant soundholes are very italian. The varnish is of a beautiful dark red-brown color with beautiful transparency showing the deep flaming colors of the highly flamed back and ribs. The violin has been extensively played and shows extensive wear and signs of playing. The varnish has been covered with a protective layer of a transparent varnish. There is a repaired and cleated soundpost crack on top, the crack not exactly on the soundpost though. There are some smaller minor repairs to the back as well, the pegholes are bushed. The violin has a very strong dominanting voice - the ringing sound is bright and carrying, extremely resonant and rich in overtones with a dark undertone. The violin retains its carrying sound even when playing piano and pianissimo - a highly recommended original italian instrument offered at a competetive price! Click here and listen to its beautiful sound! No risk. We offer a 30-day trial and inspection period. Returns are accepted for any reason. A full refund less the actual shipping costs will be issued. Shipping costs worldwide: $40 standard (very slow, can take several weeks) / $65 expedited (7-10 working days) Shipping costs Europe: $25
