Description
Description This is a Gelas Mandola from the year 1961 made by Gelas and it is very rare. The condition is remarkable with NO cracks or misuse, only normal traces of wear. The playabillity is really awesome. The label reads no. 871, Gelas, 1961, The label comes with a Signature which is quite rare. The top is Spruce, Back and sides are maple. The Mandola is beautifully adorned with rosally wood binding. Fretboard and bridge are made of ebony with Bone saddle. width of the nut is 30mm. Action is 2.25 mm on the E and 3mm on the G string. The mandola is strung with Thomastik Flatwire chromesteel. Scale is 43.3cm. Tone is really wonderfully deep and sparkling. The tone is very pure, also in higher registers, and the Mandola plays very easy. A Gelas of high standards that would easely fit and any Gelas collection. The case is original.
