Description
"Yamalone" C trumpet. Full Bob Malone conversion to a Yamaha "Heavy Wall" C trumpet (model YTR-6445HGS). This is the Mark II version with the Gold brass bell. The Malone conversion includes a MC2B leadpipe and tuning slide. This is a later version of the MC2 leadpipe which is the freer blowing Malone leadpipe (compared to the MC1). The "B" version has a standard upper tuning slide set up (not the hidden reverse set up), but the upper inner tuning slide has a smaller inner diameter (and I assume a taper on the inside). The idea is that you can get the same longer, gradual taper in a converntional tuning slide formation. The braces are old N.Y. Bach style, and the leadpipe to bell span is narrower like on old N.Y. Bachs. The bell to 1st slide brace is a sliding adjustable brace that allows you to fine tune the resistance. This is a great playing C trumpet. It is amazingly even and in-tune trumpet. Compared to the new Yamaha Artist model C trumpets, it has more weight and heft to the sound, and feels more stable to play. It has excellent projection. The overall weight is about 2 ounces heavier than the new Yamaha Artist models. This is a great trumpet. I will probably regret selling it! Excellent condition. No case or mouthpiece.
