Recently out of a private residence! A great feature on today’s piano’s is the Silent Series. Silent Series Yamahas enable the pianist to play their piano silently with the sound a a 9’ concert Grand available through headphones. It is probably the most valuable option with regard to learning how to play. It eliminates being distracted from other family members and allows better concentration. As a piano teacher I highly recommend it especially when it comes to memorization or working on fingering. You can also send the 9’ concert grand sound to an external speaker to play the piano live in a performance. The only downside is the cost expect to pay about $3500 more for the Silent Series version of any Yamaha upright. Here is a model that would be perfect for some with not much space. This 44” vertical has the same Silent Series components as Yamaha’s Baby Grands. Plug into a computer and expect the same sound and performance! Depth of this piano is a mere 20”! It will fit anywhere and has a fantastic sound. This instrument was purchased new in 1998 and still looks and performs like the day it arrived from the factory. Don’t buy a new one before you consider this, a new Yamaha upright without the Silent Feature will run you over $7500 this piano is almost half WITH the silent feature. This piano was owned privately, not by a teacher or commercial facility. Upon examination everything is up to factory spec. Hammers are new, strings, felts, dampers and silent mechanism are all in perfect condition with no wear. I played this piano and can tell you first hand it plays just like a brnad mew piano. Keys are nice and tight with no loss motion or play from side to side indicating wear on key bushings.
