' Description   Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Up to the auction for the super cool vintage early 60’s Wurlitzer 120 electric piano.   It has such a uniquely spiky, funky sound and great condition of its age just a few very lightly scratch wooden and some minor wears on the finish.  All the white keys are in level and working great sound.  All switches and the tubes preamp working and function great.  The built-in tube amplifier is GREAT! It puts out a fairly decent wattage (don't know exactly how much) and makes the traditional Wurlitzer sound a little thicker and more punchy like a close-pickup Rhodes. The classic biting tone cuts through any mix except maybe for a heavy-metal lineup. However, I prefer to use the built in 6v6 tube amp. If you use either built-in amp or an external one and play with the volume settings, you can have pretty much any tone you want, from clean and biting to gritty and punchy to grungy overdrive to distorted like an electric guitar. There's no limit with this Wurly. It's got a latch-on cover and the original legs unscrew which let's you pack it into what could almost be mistaken for a REALLY heavy armored suitcase.  It's made of wood, pressboard and metal (no plastics please) and the inner workings are simplistic and durable. I also have all four original matching legs for the bench. The original bench itself is long gone but with the original bench legs someone could make a matching bench using the original legs that will be thrown in with this auction.   These early tube-powered model 120’s are much rarer and sought after than the far more common 200’s. No modifications have been performed on this example.
