I believe the serial number is 4828A. My parents spent $300 for the clarinet and then spent another $300 to recondition it (polish, replace key pads, etc.), so they spent $600 on the instrument. They are asking at least $300.My parents bought this clarinet for me back in 1995 for the school band. At the time we had the original case but the case broke, so it now sits in a newer one. As I mentioned, it has been reconditioned before, but has not been used for at least 4 years which is why they are selling it. After doing some research I found a page in which a guy said his clarinet's serial # began with 56, and was dated at 1966. The serial # on mine begins with 48 so I will assume its safe to say this clarinet is pre-1966. The bell has been replaced (with another wooden bell) since the original developed a large crack. As far as I can tell the only issue with the clarinet as it sits is the bottom cork fitting where the bell slides on - the cork is peeling off and will need replacing. All other areas appear to be in great shape.
