Description
edshotrod Store Vintage Wood Clarinet by C. G. Conn, Elkhart, Indiana, Serial no. 424N B296477L. Body of the clarinet is made of wood and appears to be in excellent condition.  The cork gaskets are in decent shape, as are all of the pads. There are several metal accent ringsat the mouth of the bell and the joints between the various sections which I assume are nickel plated, since I couldn't find any sterling markings.  This instrument shows signs of extensive use, indicated by wear patterns in the plating  on the keys, the mouthpiece is probably made of bakelite and has a decorative scroll pattern around the shoulder of the joint.  The reed clamp is in good working condition. The mouthpiece has a circular logo which says "alliance" across its center. There is also the word superior etched just above the clampline.  The plated metal cap is in good condition.  The case appears to be original to this clarinet. It's constructed of a wood covered by a black canvas. The interior is padded and covered with blue velvet. The handles are round leather loops and are pinned in place. The spring loaded latches are brass plated steel and both work very well. They are locable, but the keys are long gone. The case also still has its small glass bottle of wood oil for maintaining the clarinet's wood body.  The interior lining is worn from long use, but it's not ripped or torn. The exterior of the  case proudly displays it's worn edges and battle scars for all to see.  There are no reeds included, so I have no idea how this instrument actually sounds, but I expect it will sound smooth and mellow in accordance with it's age and condition.    Buyer pays shipping and insurance.  Allow 10 days for all checks and money orders to clear prior to shipping.  I ship USPS Priority Mail.  Please ignore the Domestic Shipping Wizard on ebay which calculates your cost - I can't figure out a way to turn this off but any calculations made by this will be incorrect.   Again, I usually ship Priority Mail only and will calculate your shipping cost when your address is received.  However, I will ship USPS Ground if you request it.  I will also check to see if the Flat Rate will save you money if you want - this depends on size.  This way you pay EXACT cost only. Insurance is mandatory on this item and there will be a $1.00 packing and handling fee.
