Description
Up for auction is a vintage 1971 Selmer (Paris) Mark VI Silver plated Tenor Saxophone serial number 191646. This horn is ready to play. New Selmer pads and new corks. excellent condition. The only issues to point out is some finish wear on keys, a minor ding on neck, and some minor dings on bow. (Please see photos) Horn sounds awesome, an excellent example of the full bodied Mark VI sound. This particular model is a rare and sought after original silver plated finish model..The Mark VI was introduced by Selmer Paris in 1954 and produced through 1973. For the 19 years it was produced and for at least the subsequent 13 years (and arguably the next twenty years too), no saxophone could equal it. So, quite a mystique developed about the superiority of the vaunted Mark VI. And that high opinion is held with an almost religious fervor today. If you are looking for a high quality, professional instrument at a fair price..this is it. Go ahead..you deserve the best and here is your chance and you don't want to miss it. A case is included for shipping purposes only. It is not the original case
