Vintage Selmer MarkVI Tenor Saxaphone SN 76xxx Start Price USD 6,700.00 Current Price USD 10,877.00 Time Left - Bid Count 13 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Tuesday, July 01, 2008 End Time Tuesday, July 08, 2008 Location Miami Beach, Florida See more about 'Vintage Selmer MarkVI Tenor Saxaphone' Description This is an all original Vintage Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxaphone.  It was purchased new by my father, a fantastic jazz musician in or around 1958, the vintage that most say was the period when the best of the Mark's were produced.  It has been in storage for the last 28 years.  The original lacquer is about 90% and has never had any soldering or repairs.  The pads appear to be original and because of age are probably dried and in need of replacement.  A couple of the cork stops need to be replaced.  There is only one small dent above the serial number, as seen in the picture.  The engraving around the bell is sharp and clear.  The neck is original with matching serial number.  This is a terrific horn with a great sound. The case is original and in rough condition.  The zipper that keeps the case closed is partially torn loose (typical of that era case) but does close, and I have purchased a new Selmer heavy canvas case cover to further secure and protect it.
