Description
Here is a perfect playing Mark VI Tenor Saxophone. It has that deep honey brown colored laquer which is completely orginal . I would say it has about 80% of the original laquer still on it. The serial number is around 124,000 which would make it around a 1965 or 1966. The neck is also marked to match the serial number on the body of the saxophone. I believe this was one of the last years Selmer had marked the neck with the matching serial number of the horn. The neck is in perfect condition and has not been bent down(like some mark VI players have accidentally purchased). The body and neck are free of dents except for some minor wear of the laquer. This horn has been recently maintenanced and plays GREAT right now. It has been worked on by some of the finest repairmen in the Philadelphia area. I would best describe the sound as focused and husky. You will notice this horn to be very rich and full in sound. Unlike alot of the newer horns which tend to be a bit bright with no unique tonal quality. I have played this horn on many tours and recording sessions in the last 12 years since I bought the horn. I recently need to sell the horn to pay off my wedding. You can see me perform on youtube.com by typing Carl Cox tenor saxophone in the search engine. Thanks!!!! Good luck bidding and EMAIL ME at CARLSAX1@aol.com for any further questions. Thanks!
