Vintage Gibson Les Paul SG Standard 1961 SPECIAL 4th of JULY Price! Don't Miss Out! Vintage Gibson Les Paul SG Standard 1961 S p e c i a l 4th of July P r i c e ! This Baby Increases Its Value (statistically)by 30% average EACH YEAR! That means - $50000.00 in three short years!!! Save $5000.00 NOW!!! Make some real cash Tomorrow! ============================================ Alright, new pictures just in ... In respond to all of you, who asked about the tremolo, installed: From what we can see here and what I managed to find out: it is unlikely for the tremolo to have been replaced. Apparently, there are some extra wholes on the body and I really couldn't tell you what they are from... If anyone's aware of things that I'm not, please let me now! On the other hand - I have heard so many different opinions on this matter, including "thank God, your's (guitar) comes with the better vibrato, instead with this ugly side-to-side tremolo...", so I don't know what to tell you anymore... A word from another expert just came in that, back in '61-'62, Gibson used to have two different types of vibrato installed. The Sideways Tremolo and the Maestro Vibrola, that we see on this very guitar. Bottom line: I trust whatever I can see and hear. This instrument sounds nothing short of spectacular! It is far from being perfect cosmetically, but it is what it is. Please judge for yourself and make desision, based on what you see! If you live in the NY area, stop by and check the way it sounds. I can guarantee you'll take it home!!! Thanks for your attention! ============================================ Up for sale is a beautiful 1961 Gibson Les Paul SG Standard - Chery Red fininsh, very good condition! It features two humbucking P.A.F. pickups, pearloid fingerboard inlays, nickel plated parts and a cherry red finish. Frets are still in a very good shape, with very little-to-moderate fret wear, I would say 30-40%. Notice the fit, with smooth, curvy edges. The strap lock is not original, but by the time this beauty finds its new owner, the original part will be provided! Look at the hard shell case. I wish you could get a "taste" of it! Sometimes I would open it, just to inhale the nostalgics of a 47-year old "fresh" air! Also, notice how smooth the neck transitions into the body. There are no cracks, no separation. Perfect! Speaking of imperfections, there are multiple surface cracks, that show the previous owner's negligence toward this instrument's cosmetics and maintenance. Apparently, the guitar belonged to an active musician, who didn't treat it as a museum art piece :)... The crack, seen by the jack and pots, is the so called "stress crack". A lot of instruments, this old, experience the same "feature". There is no evidence of repair of any kind (since there is no separation anyway), nor structural body damage. There is another small crack on the switch ring, well shown on the photos. The serial number is 33860. Guitar weighs 7lb 4oz. With case it is15lb3oz. On a personal note: Please bid with confidence, see my history and feedback... You can plainly disregard the one neutral feedback I have. That buyer didn't have a slightest idea about cymbal-making process! Pitiful!!! I'm hoping for eBay folks to have this issue resolved as quickly as possible, but aparently, that is not their priority?! There are some real professionals out there, who helped me learn about this fine instrument. To all of you, who emailed with their suggestions and advices, thank you! I take that as a free lesson! Bottom line: This instrument is in a very good shape and it sounds absolutely amazing! Expect it to double its value in a matter of couple of years! I reserve the right to sell locally, so I might end this auction early. Please read my Terms and Conditions! Shipping of this instrument is free, worldwide! I might not be able to ship to certain countries, due to postal difficulties. Full Insurance is included. Good luck and happy bidding!
