If you are reading this then chances are you know what you're getting into. The 4001 is world-class bass heard in countless hits -- from Beatles to Rush -- and from all around the world. This bass was played, gigged, and loved for near-two decades. After which she was used only in occasional studio sessions. As with any guitar that's been on the circuit for a lengthy period of time, this Rick does show signs of "road and play wear" -- bumps, nicks, dings, scratches, paint chips, and crazing in the finish adorn the guitar. All purely cosmetic of course and doesnt' affect her tone or playability. One can say she's a true, natural relic! There are no structural repairs or issues. The tuners were replaced with Schallers at one point in history. The pickguard doesn't look original as well. Her neck is straight, and fret wear amazingly moderate for a guitar her age. Despite her vintage status of near 40 decades of age, this Rickenbacker is in excellent structural shape and in perfect playing condition! The best part of course is that she's finely aged to a tone to die for! This bass will make you look like a pro if you're up-and-coming, and a veteran if you're a pro.
