Description
Vintage 12-String Ovation Balladeer 1968 Made Between Jul-Nov 1968 * Serial A-279 * It doesn't get much better than that! Up for sale is a magnificent 1968 12-string Ovation Balladeer in excellent shape! Needless to say, it is all original, comes with Ovation hard case (case is relatively new; back in a day Ovation did not make those yet)! This is the collector's dream, a true masterpiece! Features: 12 -string Ovation Balladeer, spruce top, large, glossy finish bowl, Patent Applied For, Grover rotomatics; dot fret markers at 3rd, 7th and 15th position, diamond shaped inlays at 5th and 9th, 2 diamonds and a dot at the 12th fret position; There is one very tiny, hair-type lacquer crack at the bottom of the top side, barely noticeable. Couple of scratches in the back on the bowl, also difficult to spot and take photographs off. I hope you'll see better, than I can tell you what the cosmetic condition of this fine instrument is. Please examine all pictures carefully, as they provide(hopefully) a 360 degree view of this instrument's condition. There is something on the back of the headstock, that looks like a frozen epoxy/lacquer droplet. It is completely intact and sealed together with the rest of the finish, definitely not looking like someone's played around with it. My guess is, manufacturing "oops!". Also, notice the anti-slip "attachment", glued to the back of the bowl, that actually serves its purpose well. Since this is an early model, there's no electronics involved. Just pure acoustics! And boy, does it sound spectacular! Everything on this guitar (to the best of my knowledge, of course) is original! The serial number is A-279, which denotes a production date of somewhere between July and November 1968! Guitar weighs 4lb 14oz. With the case, it is14lb 2oz. ==================================================================================================================== Please bid with confidence, see my history and feedback... ==================================================================================================================== This instrument is in an excellent shape, with minor imperfections.
