Martin First of all, I must say that I know about as much about old musical instruments as I do about nuclear physics. We bought this 21" ukulele at a recent estate sale and after a little research I think I know enough to describe it. The family thought it was from the 1920s and it is stamped C.F. Martin & Co., Nazareth, PA on the back. There is no Martin decal on the front and nothing that would tell us that there ever was. I think it is a Style 2K Soprano and made out of Kao wood but I could be way off base. It was obviously cared for over the years but one string is missing and 3 very tight cracks on the back. These cracks do go through to the inside but are very tight. The black spots that you see on the back will clean off but I did not want to damage the finish by using something that wasn't made to clean it with. It is on top of the finish and it looks like something stuck to it at one time. The wood has some wear and could use a little cleaning but I don't see any other damage.
