This model is a fine reproduction of Antonius Stradivarius Cremona 1724. The viola is in very good condition with a no repairs and scratches. The wood, workmanship, varnish and carving of this viola are all first rate.  There are details like fluted f hole wings, a fully detailed and carved scroll, a wonderfully transparent and fiery oil varnish and highly flamed maple that identify this instrument as top quality. Look the very high quality maple used here with a spectacular natural holographic wood effect. This maple is a "quarter-sawn cut" maple.  The tone is loud, full and deeply resonant.  It projects well and can be heard easily in a large hall.  The viola is very responsive and has a wide dynamic range.  It produces a clean clear sound with the lightest bow and has plenty of reserve power when pressed hard.  The tone is clear and clean without being stridently bright, but it is so responsive and clear that it cannot really be called dark either.  This viola has nice balance and is even across the strings.  If you have been looking for a soloist and professional grade of viola, something well suited for advanced and professional demands, this viola is an excellent choice.
