WHITE KING EUPHONIUM / TROMBONIUM 1949' Description jcicotta store   VINTAGE H.N. WHITE KING BARITONE 1949 Up for auction is a very nice H.N. White King brass instrument. The serial number is 303574. So I believe this places production at about 1949. I originally thought this to be a baritone. But right away I got an email telling me this is a combination of a trombone and a euphonium. Originally White called this a Trumbonium and the name became Trombonium. I guess these were made for marching bands. On the valves just above the "King" stamp (pic 5), it looks like the number '7'. I don't know if this is some indication of model. Aside from needing a better cleaning, it looks to be in good shape. The valves move freely. The body is almost dent free except for the one shown in picture 6. The gold plating is about 50% worn off. The bell is very nice but does have a crease You can see it in picture 7. Even though it's about 2.5-3 inches long it seems pretty minor. May even be the way it was manufactured.  The white spots in the first picture are just the remnants of a sticker I didn't get off all the way. The mouthpiece is missing. I would guess this is an excellent candidate for a restoration.  Satisfaction is guaranteed. If you are not pleased, just mail it back for a full refund.
