Description
Up for sale one of the great moments in analog console history. My beloved Trident Vector 432.This console was bought brand new by a TV company when it first came out and I bought it from them a few years ago. I used it on a few projects and had it removed from service about two years ago when I moved out of state. The console is configured as follow:48 Channels X 32 Bus with 32 mono modules + 8 stereo Modules, 8 Aux, 8 groups and 4 stereo sub-groups, Compressor in the Main mix bus VCA automated faders and recall of most settings (although I never used or tested them)The board is excellent cosmetic condition and with a little tlc it should be brought to new condition. There are about 4 potentiometer knobs missing and one potentiometer with a bent shaft (still turns fine). These consoles are hard to find specially in this condition. A Vector 432 was recently sold for $25,000 in the U.S. and another was sold for 22,000 euro in Europe. I priced mine to go since it is currently stored at my tech's house in New Jersey and taking up his space. This is a serious console with excellent eq's and mic-pre's and a design that is very similar to a SSL 4000 series. In my personal opinion I like the mic-pre's on this board better than those on the SSL.I am willing to consider serious reasonable offers. The console is also listed locally and my tech is also working on having it sold through his channels, therefore I reserve the right to end the auction anytime if there are no bids and the console sells locally.Inspections can be arranged by appointment. The console as pictured, power supply, power supply cable and a book is supplied with this auction. Shipping to the continental U.S. will cost you around $2,000 and about $2,500.00 overseas + 250.00 handling charge, which will go to my tech to cover  packing material costs and his time overseeing the shipment and making sure that it loads in the truck safely. My tech can point you in the right direction as far as freight companies as he is used to moving these beasts around on a regular basis without any issues. The handling fee will only be waved if you come in person with your own truck and crew and load it off of the location yourself. I have a spare Power Supply for this console and will include with the sale free of charge. If I remember correctly the spare PSU is setup for 220V whereas the main PSU is setup for 120V, therefore the user will have the choice of either 120V or 220V without having to re-wire the primaries of either unit. I had my tech going through the console and found that channel strips and center section functions are working as they should except for two mono channels, which have an issue with the overload system. He said that it should be an easy fix and it is most likely one transistor per channel that needs to be replaced. One stereo channel is completely dead. According to my tech it should be a voltage related issue and it should be an easy fix. My tech says that the desk is solid and needs to be put back to work so all switches and pots are utilized. Having said that, there is a possibility that a few switches may need to be replaced. I have a few brand new spare switches and will include with the sale. Same with potentiometers. A few knob caps are either missing or need to be replaced but they are available and shouldn't cost more than a few dollars. Components are easily available specially switches and they are not expensive at all. Prices will vary between 2 and 6.00 per switch. This is not bad considering I had a neve where switches used to cost over $15.00 a pop. I was also told that Trident designed was inspired by the SSL 4000 series where eq's and filters rely on IC's instead of capacitors in the signal path as oposed to Neve consoles. Does it sound better? I don't know you be the judge. Some prefer SSL because they sound cleaner, others like the coloration of the Neve and API's. I like them all  depending on the project. The advantage of the design of the Trident is that when caps get old they won't alter the sound quality, thus recapping should not be an issue, specially because this board was recapped a few years ago and there aren't that many caps in the circuitry like Neve consoles. Terms and conditions: A 50% deposit is required via bank transfer within 72 hours after the auction ended and remaining balance due prior to shipping or pick up. Local buyers are welcome to go see the console at my tech's location, which is about 20 minutes from NYC. As always, ask all questions before placing a bid and not after!!!! Payment by bank transfers, checks or certified funds (pending clearance from my bank) or cash at pick up. No credit cards and no Paypal!!!! No bidders with zero or too many negative feedback allowed.Payment must be received within 72 hours unless prior arrangements are made. If you don't have the money please don't bid!!!!
