Description
Listed is a blond, 17 fret, "no-name" tenor banjo in the style of a Vega-Fairbanks style "N" circa 1905-1917. All parts are original except for a fiberskyn head, bridge, and one peg. There are 3 original celluloid pegs with a replacement celluloid peg. The pot and neck have original finish and are in excellent condition with light, normal wear from use. There are 20 hooks, all original with original nuts and shoes. Original No-Nic tail piece. Has a short ferrrule, and two screws in back indicate that there may have at one time been a resonator attached. The intonation is fine, and the instrument plays well. The scale length is 21.1". There is no case. The sound of this banjo can best be described as transparent and 'ghostly'. With a pick it is quite sharp and there is lots of sympathetic resonance. A truly unique sounding instrument!SHIPPING INSURANCE IS INCLUDED IN THE S & H.Write with any questions or for additional pictures.
