Description
Taylor 46 bore lite model 'Chicago' Bb Trumpet in satin gold lacquer finish. The horn is light when compared to other horns in the Taylor ‘Chicago’ line but is still a fairly heavyweight horn. Its bore diameter is the same as a Bach 37 Strad and while as a whole Taylor horns are something of a departure from ‘normal’ trumpets this one should feel comfortable to most players while still boasting the advantages offered by the excellent Taylor craftsmanship. This is definitely a world class instrument and Taylor horns hold their own against horns that are nearly twice the price! It has a creamy dark tone but will brighten up if you push it and is versatile enough to be used in any playing situation. The valves are excellent and the horn is very responsive and agile without making any compromises in the realm of tone. A great jazz/commercial horn particularly for combo and or small group work. The horn is in EXCELLENT, like-new condition and has only had a couple of months worth of playing put on it since it came from the Taylor workshop. The horn comes with two matching Taylor mouthpieces that match the weight of the horn very well. They are roughly equivalent to a Bach 3C in terms of dimensions and rim diameter. One of the mouthpieces is a standard one good for all around playing and the other has a somewhat shallower cup for upper register work. The rims on the two are identical and makes it a comfortable switch for players who like to go back and forth between a ‘legit’ and a ‘lead’ mouthpiece. A Durbin hard shell case is also included. This horn including the case, mouthpieces, and lacquer finish would ordinarily sell from Taylor for around $4,500.00. Please email with any questions!
