I decided at 23 to try to learn as a life long dream. Now at 30, I realize that this is one instrument I just don't have the talent for. I'm better than I ever have been but my cat doesn't agree. As you can see in the pictures, it's in excellent condition. I have great respect for this instrument. The friend that I bought it from had his father (who's been actually making violins and other string instruments for over 50 years) make some adjustments to the violin so that the sound is better than a common student violin. It comes with a tuning pipe and resin for the bow (barely used, as you can tell) and even extra strings! I do strongly suggest that the student who this violin is for get an actual teacher but I have four teaching books that I was given with this instrument as a back up and at home practice music. The Violin Primer book comes with a CD that goes with the tutorial. I have been told by my violin teacher that the set of Muller Rusch set of books that were given to me were some of the best teaching books for string instruments as well. I think there are more to the series but I do have booklets one through three. This is a great violin and teaching book set for any beginner!
