Steinway Grand A-II (Hamburg) 1906 (PRICE REDUCTION) price reduced - - - beautifully refinished - must play Start Price USD 39,950.00 Current Price USD 39,950.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Tuesday, September 30, 2008 End Time Friday, October 10, 2008 Location Decatur, TX See more about 'Steinway Grand A-II (Hamburg) 1906 (PRICE REDUCTION)' Description   Steinway A  6’2” serial #130753 built in Hamburg, Germany in 1906.  Rebuilt to perfection 100 years later.  This instrument was sold in 1906 or 1907 by a piano dealer in Warsaw, Poland named Gebethner Wolff (see picture---brass plate with dealer inscription is mounted on right side key block).  When I found it in 2003 it had made its way to Ukraine.              Steinway has recently re-introduced this same piano (the 6’2” model A) into their line of new pianos.  A new model A sells for approx $59,000.  The piano I have for sale is like buying a new one because everything has been replaced by expert craftsmen.  The soundboard, pinblock and strings were installed by Cantabile Piano Arts in New York City.  The case was beautifully re-finished in high gloss ebony which is characteristic of modern Hamburg Steinways.  Artist Bench is included.  Brass pedals and pedal mechanism are new.                            The tone of this piano is clear and transparent with a sonority sought out by serious musicians.  I am parting with this piano simply because I already have a Hamburg Steinway  Concert Grand (I am a Steinway Artist).  The two pianos are in the same room in my recording studio and I do not need more than one.             If you play this piano you will find the touch and the tone to be quite amazing.  You are welcome to have a third party piano technician make an inspection.  I can assist in shipping arrangements.  Free shipping within 250 miles of Dallas/Fort Worth area.
