Description
Snow 200 Model 16.5" ViolaThis is a beautifully crafted, handmade Snow 200 Model 16.5" Viola which is setup and finished by Johnson String Instrument, New England's largest and most complete string instrument shop. The violin company's name, SNOW, originates from the workshop owner's first name XuePing, which translates into Snow. XuePing was trained in China by the great violin making master, Quan Zheng. Quan Zheng studied in Cremona, Italy, thus XuePing's instruments are of the Italian style. All Snow instruments are handmade. The wood used comes from Sichuan and Yun-nan Provinces (Southern region) and in the North East region of China. Spruce is used for the top which comes from the North East and North West Xinjiang Province. Each instrument is made from a two piece maple back and solid carved spruce top, hand-rubbed and antique varnished. The wood is naturally dried outside on a covered, ventilated area for 3-4 years. Then the wood is put into a drying room conforming to the old traditional European way. This process ensures that the wood will not open or expand. This guarantees stability. This beautifully crafted, handmade Snow 200 Model 16.5" Viola is professionally setup in the workshop of Johnson String Instrument, New England's largest and most complete string instrument shop.
