Description
Shakuhachi 1.8 - Masafumi - solid & beautiful sound! A quick comparison between this instrument and instruments I have sold on ebay in the past two months:This instrument plays very similarly to the Shakuhachi signed twice by "Kouyou", which sold a few weeks ago for 1,399US$. (Please see feedback.) In addition, it plays a little better than the "Shouzan" signed instrument which sold a month ago for 1049.50US$.(Please see feedback.)In my efforts to keep both this instrument and the 2.1 together, as it is very rare to have instruments by the same maker on ebay, I will offer a 30% discount on the lower price selling instrument if won by the same bidder. Best of luck!Greetings to all in the Shakuhachi community, beginners, intermediates, advanced, and masters. Here is another great, affordable & beautiful sounding Shakuhachi.- WITH NO RESERVE.- Instruments like this one would normally sell for a minimum price of 2,500US$, even here on ebay. Here is a chance to get it at less than half the cost. For those who are new to my Shakuhachi auctions, please read my recent feedbacks to better understand this auction and the value it brings to the Global Shakuhachi community. My item description has been accurate, honest and most importantly coming to you from a very knowledgeable perspective.A little about this auction:After almost 14 years of playing the Shakuhachi, I feel that the instrument I have here on this auction is of great value to all players especially those who are beginners or even intermediates looking for a long term instrument. This instrument can be played well into the master/classical curriculum of most styles including the traditional Kinko-ryu gaikyoku and Honkyoku, the Doukyoku pieces of the Watazumido Honkyoku, as well as modern pieces.About the Instrument:This is a two piece Ji-ari Kinko-ryu Shakuhachi (1.8) in the key of D tuned at A440 with excellent balance and superb tuning. Although little is known about the maker, his stamp indicates the name "Masafumi".Please note that I am also auctioning a 2.1 in the key of B, also made by "Masafumi". It is very rare to find different sized instruments by the same maker on ebay. I can combine shipping for both items if won by the same bidder.Tonal characteristics: The overall tonal quality of this instrument is excellent and very well balanced. It resembles many modern instruments that are well made and produce an overall great and robust sound. It can handle a lot of air and strong blowing without a crack in the sound, thus producing a strong well rounded and truly authentic Shakuhachi sound. All the fingerings respond similarly to the player's blowing. It requires almost no embouchure adjustments to play all the fingerings in pitch, making it extremely stable and highly reliable for professional stage performances.Aesthetics:This instruments has natural shadings and blemishes in the bamboo to add to its natural beauty. It has naturally well-aligned-paralleled joints, and a nice mild bend in the root-end for a classic look. There are no cracks in this instrument. The joint is solid and seals perfectly.Instrument weight: 390 grams. If you are the only bidder you can get this instrument at a truly unmatchable price of 999US$!- To further understand this instrument please read on the auction for the 2.1 also made by "Masafumi."- I ship worldwide.- SHIPPING AND HANDLING: 50US$ by EMS TO ANY COUNTRY WORLDWIDE!SAME SHIPPING COST TO ALL NATIONS - 50US$________________________________________________________IF THIS AUCTION REACHES A MINIMUM OF 1,999US$, I WILL:1- Ship the instrument for free to anywhere in the world.
