Description
This horn was purchased by me in 1988 and played professionally thru mid 2007. It's serial number is M 273084 (see photos) and was new in the late 1970's. I used this instrument to play pop, funk & rock using primarily Dukoff, Segal & Guardala mouthpieces (Note: No mouthpiece is included in this sale) and was able to get all I needed out of it up until I put it aside last May. In 2001 I had this horn given a $600.00 total overhaul and set-up by Jim Germann, a reknowned Pittsburgh, PA. technician who has serviced instruments for many notable players country-wide. If you are looking at a Selmer, you, no doubt, are already aware of this horn's desirability and it's adaptability to play any and all genres. Note: stand not included. I would consider the lacquer quality reasonable with an expected amount of wear and superficial scratches for a horn the age of this one. If you're looking to get into a Selmer "Mark" series this one should get you there for less than half of what a Mark VI will typically cost. I'm selling this for a friend. Send questions to: grox@neo.rr.com. Shipping size will be 10 1/2" X 15" X 35" at a weight of 28#. Figure shipping cost from 44460 to your zip. Insurance required.
