This is a VERY RARE 1959 Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone serial number 84266. This saxophone is in excellent condition with 90%+ original lacquer. The lacquer is dark and beautiful. The saxophone has beautiful ornate engraving. There has never been any damage at all. There are no resolders on the saxophone. This saxophone plays beautifully up and down the whole range. It has a very warm and beautiful sound. Intonation is excellent! The tone has a lot of personality and character. The neck is original and has never been pulled down or damaged. The saxophone is in great playing shape. All the pads are in great shape, it was overhauled a few years back and never got played much. The five digit Mark VI saxophones are widely thought of as the best playing saxophones ever made. This is a perfect example of why the early Mark VI held in such high regards. This saxophone comes in a flight case with a nice case cover, both are in good condition. This is a wonderful saxophone perfect for players and collectors.
