Muck made three levels of trumpets . The Academy was the least expensive model . But that sort of like saying  the least expensive Rolls Royce ! Rudy was an apprentice with Vincent Bach in Mt Vernon NY then opened his own shop right down the street. They say that the early model were made from Bach parts . This is definitely an early model with a serial # of 194.  The valves are numbered #265 , 266 , 267  and are clearly hand stamped.The top and bottom caps are also numbered    The trumept has no major dents to speak of or any signs of previous repairs. There is a   tiny dent on the end of the 1st slide and a tiny dent at the back bow . Too small to see in a photo.   The lacquer looks to be original with moderate wear/speckling throughout. The Academy / RM logo  is a soldered on silver raised diamond plate ,    The valves show little wear  and seem to have good compression. A nice pop when they are pulled .    It comes in vintage , possibly original case, with functioning latches and baklite handle.   It seems to be a great playing trumpet .
