Among the more than 500 violins we traded in the last 2 years this is the 10th of these rare instruments - so let us say something:They are getting definitely rare and they are not coming back (or you might choose to buy a poor Chinese copy), and soon there will be none of these instruments available! We would estimate it's age at end 1800s/early 1900s built in a German workshop.  Please scroll down to see all detailed photos as part of the item description! Very rare and well crafted instrument, with accurately worked inlaid purfling and masterly carved scroll. The violin is in fairly good condition, it shows no open cracks or seams, but surely some minor marks in it's beautiful old amber varnish !The table is finely grained spruce and the one-piece back is - as well as the neck and ribs - finely flamed maple. The edges are beautiful decorated with wooden inlays. The ebony pegs are fitting well, the fingerboard is plain and the tail piece, decorated with mother of pearl inlays, is mounted with 1 fine tuner/adjuster. Beautiful violin in good state of preservation and with nice sound - a must for every collector of old violins!
