If you are thinking about buying a Bozak mixer, this is the one for you.  Buy it now before it's gone!  If the mixer does not sell it may not be re-listed due to the amount of offers pending on these custom DLC units. Please feel free to email me with any and all questions that you have before bidding.      If you are looking at this auction then I need not go into any Bozak history on quality, or the credentials of the builder on this unit. Most people reading this will know that Mr. Beck was the key influence and main input designer of the Prototype HB-1-8A cross fade unit and responsible for several designs used by other mixer manufactures. The number of DLC custom units like this was less than 20 between 1985 and 1989. At that time Mr. Beck acquired a large quantity of original parts that were being eliminated that he retained for his own personal use. It was not until 2004 that 2 of these special DLC units were rebuilt by him from original mixers supplied by a couple of friends. At that time it was suggested to reissue the unit, but due to the cost of quality components and parts to duplicate the DLC along with other issues Mr. Beck elected to rebuild customers units supplied to him until all original parts is depleted. Between 2006 and 2007 a total of only 4 of these units were personally rebuilt by him and they carry his name tag on the back panel. This is a complete rebuild using as many original factory parts available as you can see from the photos. Currently an average of 2-3 units a year is made available by him when original mixers are supplied, and the waiting list now goes into 2009. This is the third unit offered this year and there will probably not be a fourth for 2008.. Today’s cost of labor alone would be more than the units sold for originally in the 1980s. And average of 60 + hours goes into each of these custom rebuilt mixers with total dedication to the unit being produced. The completed unit is then bench tested for 6-8 more hours and once again re-checked to ensure proper operation. To quote a 50s commercial he has always said “The Quality Goes In Before The Name Goes On”. This unit comes with 3 phono, 5 auxiliary and 2 microphone inputs. The booth output is what people refer to as “True Booth” which means the extra audio output card is installed in the mixer so the booth output matches the main gains. This feature alone is very rare to find in units set up with the booth output option.
