Description
A Great American horn that is in Great shape!   This is a big bore Artist model that is a real player!!!     This is an outstanding trumpet and a top-quality pro instrument by E.K. Blessing Company in Elkhart, Indiana. Blessing stands at the vanguard of musical value and integrity as the oldest family-owned musical instrument manufacturer in Elkhart (since 1906). Blessing has manufactured trumpets and cornets for other musical instrument companies under various brand names - giving some present day competitors their start in the brasswind business! This one was done for a private music chain. The serial number is 88029 (which should date the horn to about 1959) and the logo on the horn says “Lincoln” By BB Wyman Co., Made in USA. It has a beautiful NEW satin blasted finish with only a few small blemishes and just a few tiny body dings. The horn is a stencil of the Artist line and has almost all the same features. I have played this horn a lot and it has a wonderful clear tone, and a nice BIG sound (Melanie said I sound great on this horn, lol, as always). The horn plays well from a peddle C to as high as you like to push it. It projects very well with the 5” bell but takes some air to fill with its .468” bore. It's in excellent condition - all the tuning slides work smoothly, including the first and third which are usually frozen and require some kind of repair. The lead pipe is nickel and the brass outer tube and receiver have a few small red spots, but it has not deteriorated the brass. The micro tuning slide works well and the horn plays very much in tune. We have put on new “O” rings to quiet the third valve slide upon return when using the ring. The valves work freely and spring back into place with ease and have new felts in them. They all have the original serial number on them and show very little wear. There are NO dents in any of the tubing and as we said earlier, just a few small dings and a few blemishes from normal wear. The bell is now in good shape after repairing a crushed backbow and a bent bell flair from being dropped several years ago. There are some shadows from the repairs and I tried to backlight the horn to make all the imperfections show in the photos. I chem. cleaned the horn and stripped the lacquer. Then a bead blast finish was applied to the body and the slides were polished. The bell interior was done in a brushed brass finish and the caps were left a polished nickel finish. Overall the horn rates a nine out of ten in looks and playability. The trumpet comes with a Schilke 15 mouthpiece that looks almost new. It plays free and matches the flow of the big bore horn. You also get the nice wood hard-sided case, which you see in the pictures. It is brown outside with brown bands and a clean furry maroon on the inside. There is a few nicks on the outside and a small spot where the valve caps wore through on the inside. This is still a nice hard wood case with working clasps and hinges! This is your chance - why spend upwards of $900 for an intermediate trumpet (Blessing has the Artist model now that goes for $1500) when you can pick this up for a lot less than that? Take a look...it’s a great horn for a pro player, comeback player, or intermediate player. Winning Bidder pays shipping of $23.00(Insured).   Don’t miss your chance to get a true Artist big bore horn that is in Great shape!   Please note that I have a reserve that is less than 200 Washingtons!   Since we have had a bad apple now, we are including this *Legal Stuff*.
