It may have nickel-silver plating. "THREE STAR" is stenciled on the bell. All of the THREE STAR clarinet's I have seen or sold have had the initials BC on the bell. BC is an abbreviation for the Bettoney Cundy company. They are well-known for making good, quality metal clarinets. This may be a very early model THREE STAR clarinet.    The metal clarinet's date back to the early 1800's. All but a few companies stopped manufacturing them in the 1930's. They are favored by jazz musicians because of their unique tone. I play enough to test a clarinet and it plays up and down in all octaves. The last note is harder to play. The keys all move. The pads are old. It's in nice cosmetic condition. The silver plate finish shines. It has a tiny, pin-head sized ding on the side of the bell. It comes with a separate barrel for attaching the mouthpiece to the clarinet. The cork at the top of the clarinet where the barrel connects is good - it has minor wear. It comes with an unmarked mouthpiece and ligature (no cover). The cork on the mouthpiece is good. It includes a nice black hard case. The exterior fabric has minor wear on the corners. The green corduroy interior is good; has some fading. The latches work and the leather handle is good; has some wear. Don't let this rare GEM get away. It's in good condition and it plays.
