Designed for doublers that are primarily tenor players, the Jazz alto model has a low baffle mated with a medium chamber which makes for a dark, more spread sound with fat high notes and a easy, buttery low register. This mouthpiece has an especially good ability to blend in sections, subtone and can take a lot of air. It is darker than the New York model. This mouthpiece has been worked on by refacer John Reilly to .070 opening. A very smooth and even mouthpiece, fairly dark but very versatile. This mouthpiece can be pushed to become very loud and projecting. A very good Jazz alto piece. I'm an alto player and used this as my main piece for about a year before moving onto darker pieces.
