The PURE PREAMP from K&K Sound K&K Sound has a line of preamps that are all full-range, and suitable for use with any pickup. Due to their 1 megohm input impedance, they are ideal for piezo-based pickups - especially since many common bass amps are not designed for the ultra-high impedance that piezo-electric pickups provide. They're very effective at shaping and improving the sound of your Upright Bass pickup, like the Fishman Full Circle or BP-100, any of the K&K Sound pickups (like the Bass Max or Double Big Twin), the Underwood, the David Gage Realist, and many more. But this can even be handy for magnetic pickups - Yup, I've been known to use my Pure Preamp with my old '71 Fender Precision fretless bass, for that "active" sound without making nasty new holes in that sweet old bass. All K&K Preamps have the same basic specifications: Frequency response: 10 - 30,000 Hz Input 1/4", 1 Mega Ohm Output: 1/4", 10 KOhm Battery Consumption: less than 1 milli Ampere - 9-volt – 180 hours Pure Preamp Stainless steel case approx. 2 3/4 x 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches. Powered by a 9 volt battery (not included). Designed as an all-purpose preamp for piezo and magnetic pickups, it can be used for many pre-amplification purposes. The specially designed EQ has a super-wide band midrange control centered at 1.5 kHz plus bass (100hz) and treble (10kHz) controls.
