Previously, the SCJ Thinline was only produced in small quantities inside the Private Stock department. This newly offered, limited run model features a PRS designed ebony/curly maple unit. The model also features a select grade maple top and back, mahogany middle and neck, and a Macassar ebony fingerboard/headstock veneer with gold mother of pearl birds and signature. The PRS SCJ Thinliine archtop strikes a perfect balance between tradition and innovation. The understated grace and rich tone of this instrument arise from years of development at PRS. The guitar has two humbucking pickups, with a three-way toggle selector. These create a warm tone that is enhanced by a unique acoustic design inside the body: a wooden "island" that joins the back and top. Unlike a conventional 335-style body block, it doesn't run the entire length of the body, but floats free of the neck joint and bottom of the body.
