Description
This auction is for five volumes of Baroque music. Four of the volumes are in very nice condition. One volume has been through it, repaired, and through it again. Bid accordingly.1. Short & Easy Pieces for Organ, edited by C.H. Trevor, Oxford University Press. It is pictured in the upper left-hand corner. A couple of the composers' death dates are post 1750, but by and large, this is a Baroque collection. Composers include: JKF Fischer, Boyvin, Rheinberger, Jullien, Nivers, Walther, Heredia, Guilain, M. Corrette, Bermudo, Merkel, Chauvet, Vierling, Muffat, Pachelbel, Murschhauser, Rembt. Music is on three staves.2. Anthologia Antiqua, Book Five. Dietrich Buxtehude, Six Chorale Preludes, editor Bingham. Fischer/Belwin Mills F.E. 8090. Included are: Te Deum (Praeludium); O Lord, to Me, Poor Sinner; Praise God, ye Christians; We Pray Now to the Holy Spirit; A Babe is Born in Bethlehem; From God I Ne'er Will Turn Me. The cover is torn along the binding from the bottom up to the top staple, but is still attached. The music is still holding to the staples well. This volume is pictured in the upper right corner above.3. Water Music, Handel. Novello Modern Transcriptions 17. Yes, a transcription, of course, but not a bad one at all. Here is a picture of a typical page:4. Pictured directly below the Buxtehude is the old favorite Edition Peters No. 4448, 80 Chorale Preludes, German Masters of the 17th and 18th Centuries. As you can probably see from the picture, it is in uh, how shall I say it? Well-used condition. Here's the thing. The volume is in 3, 4, 5, pieces, maybe more. It's all there. And the music itself is in fine condition. It's just been played, toted, stored, resurrected, played some more. Look on the bright side: It will lay flat as a pancake on your music desk. Some of the music is on two staves, some on three. Here's a picture of a typical interior page: See? It's not so bad...5. Eight Little Preludes and Fugues. Schirmer Vol. 1456. Famously misattributed to JS Bach. With great flourish, I drew a line through his name on the cover and boldly proclaimed it a work of Krebs. I'll tell you a little secret - a grad school buddy of mine actually admitted to including some of these on a recital program at his local church. The congregation ate it up and demanded more. They love these things, they're not hard to play, so why not? Have a little fun. All the music has pencil notations scattered here and there - some more, some less.I accept a variety of payment options and ship daily. I recommend adding insurance, but the choice is yours. Thanks for looking. And thanks for bidding.
