The violin is loud, with exceptional power, clarity and projection. At the same time the violin can be soft and quiet, mellow and soulful. This is a quality tone of old italian instrument. The two piece back measures 357 mm, the total length is 591 mm. The violin is hand carved from aged quality tonewoods beautifully figured on the two piece back, and beautiful even fine grained spruce on the top. The sides, neck and scroll, all hand carved from beautiful flamed maple. It has been delicately inlaid with purfling, and has ebony fittings, new pirastro tonica strings and new good fitted bridge. The both "f" s and scroll are fluted most beautifully. The beautiful golden-yellow varnish is in good condition, completely original. This violin has not cracks or repairs.
