It is a 5 x 14 drum with a natural Gloss finish. This snare drum comes standard with a Remo Coated Ambassador on the batter side and a Remo Diplomat Snare Side as the resonant head. This Classic Solid Shell Snare Drum is, by all estimations, an industry standard. Introduced in 1983, this drum spearheaded the custom drum shop movement, and significantly raised the bar as to what exactly qualifies a "pro-level" drum. These drums are built of single-ply maple shells. The wood is steam bent in a piece of equipment that has been in operation since before the turn of the last century.
