Description This auction is for a genuine Kay upright bass, serial number 3285.  According to the Kay website, Kay began making basses in 1937, and this bass was made in 1938.  The instrument is in good condition for a bass of this vintage.  Even the edges are quite nice.  One top worner has some lamination missing (see pictures).  The finish is somewhat crackled.  It has the original machine heads.  The bass is setup and playable, and exhibits the rich, strong tone sought after by Kay bass enthusiasts.  Bid your price, get a bargain, and enjoy your bass!!!
