They are small but visible. Structurally there is nothing wrong with this Oud.  This Oud has the classic tear-drop shape. The bowl and neck stave construction is accented with alternating dark and light hard woods.  The three round sound holes have decorative rosette inserts and are trimmed with faux mother of pearl inlay.  The soundboard has a light finish. There are twelve strings in six courses of two each. The bridge is fixed. The nut to bridge measures approximately 23.25 inches.  This is a beautiful instrument. Over all dimensions are approximately 32 x 14 x 8 inches.  Includes hard case. Woods used in construction: spruce for the soundboard; the body and neck can be constructed of a variety of woods: including mulberry, mahogany, walnut and African wood (no English equivalent), come with 11 not 12 strings b/c the double string on the 6th course is not necessary. Also known as Arabic OUDsOn the gold oud case locks: The Key hole has a tabbed collar.To open, the Tabs must be in the vertical, top, and bottom positions.  Then if with your thumb slide the entire keyhole button away from the latch.   The latch should pop open. If the case was locked with the key, it has to be unlocked before you can slide the keyhole button. If the case is unlocked and the collar tabs are horizontal, left and right, the case will not open.
