The top is hand carved and graduated solid spruce, and the back, sides and neck are hand carved flamed maple. This mandolin comes with a complete setup, Life Time warranty, & Morgan Monroe Mandolin Case   All Solid Hand Carved Spruce & Flamed Maple  The MMR-2 is the very top of the line Morgan Monroe mandolin made. This mandolin is about twice as loud as the the Morgan Monroe MMS-8 F-style mandolin. The top is hand carved solid spruce, and the back, sides and neck are hand carved flamed maple. The fretboard is radiused ebony as well as the fitted ebony bridge. The nut is radiused bone, and the frets are medium in size. It is very easy to make chords on this mandolin, because the neck plays so easy. The powerful sound that comes from the MMR-2 will let you pick out any tune. The MMR-2 is so powerful because it has a special bracing system that reduces the damping factor of the soundboard. The intonation is dead on. The tone right now is woody clear, with even highs and even lows. The finish is a hand rubbed oil that really lets the wood breathe and vibrate. The best features of the MMR-2 is its beautiful hand carving, extra deep mandolin body, radiused ebony fretboard, and powerful volume. The people that have seen and heard this mandolin called it elegant, and the best mandolin I have had in the shop. I am showing this MMR-2 with the special setup of an Allen tailpiece. The mandolin comes with a gold engraved traditional 2 piece tail piece.
