That's why it's marked down from it's retail price of $479.00. The esraj is held upright in your lap and played with a bow like a small bass fiddle.  Includes case. The 4 mail strings have guitar style (mechanical) tuning pegs, the 15 sympathetic are violin (tension) style. Esraj can be tuned at Concert C, or as high as High E. The string gauges depend on the pitch selected. The diagram and string gauges are for C to D tuning.
