It is a very good choice for an upgrade of either a signature Eric Clapton or 57 American vintage Stratocaster as it borrows the vintage style and finish of the 57 model and combines it with the back shape and modern radius of the Clapton Strat. Last but not least it also has jumbo frets for effortless string bending and outstanding fret life expectancy. The specs are as follows:  - Musikraft's Clapton back shape made to the Eric Clapton Signature specs - - Nitrocellulose finish - - Heavily rolled fingerboard edges - - Select clean-looking 1-piece maple with 9.5" fingerboard - - 6150 frets (.104"x.047") - - 1"11/16th nut width - - Self-lubricating Delrin nut - - New chrome Gotoh Kluson-style tuners from Warmoth Guitar Products -   I custom ordered this neck and received it in August 2008 and just completed the finish, fingerboard and fret work and nut shaping/cutting, it is ready to be played. If you do not know about Musikraft, their products are of the highest quality and I certainly don't hesitate putting them on the same quality level as Warmoth or USA Custom Guitars.This neck is spec'd as an upgrade for an Eric Clapton Stratocaster, many are fond of this signature model including myself, however I'm not alone thinking a larger fret wire would be a significant improvement. As a result the neck has Musikraft's Clapton contour which matches that of the Clapton signature model, it is also a 1-piece maple, with vintage style tuners, and the modern 9.5" fingerboard radius. It departs slightly from the Clapton specs to retain a more vintage look thanks to the 21 fret construction and a nitrocellulose finish sanded with the very fine sand paper for a smooth satin feel. If you were to order such a neck you'd pay $215 for the unfinished neck, $110 for the finish, $40 for cutting and setting up the nut, $60 for the vintage tuners and their installation, and then all the extra labor for rolling the fingerboard edges, smoothing the fret ends and polishing the frets to a mirror-like shine. Ultimately you would have to spend over $470, not to mention the long wait in getting the neck built, finished and set up.  Instead I am offering this neck at a considerably lower price point, ready to be shipped and played. As you'll see from feedback I received for similar necks, I only offer necks I would enjoy playing myself. Fast delivery A+ It is built from a very clean looking 1-piece maple blank, no crazy looking grain here, it has the same look as quarter sawn necks. It sports 6150 frets, they are taller than vintage frets and therefore make string bending particularly effortless, since they are also wider they will last much much longer. The frets ends are smooth, and the frets were polished up to 12,000 grit, needless to say string bending is smooth and effortless and there are definitely no sharp edges to be found. This is an absolute must for any necks coming out of Warmoth, Musikraft or USACG unfortunately few will take the time to do it and as a result end up with an average neck, this is not the case here. The back contour is Musikraft's Clapton back shape which is a soft-V made to the same specs as the Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster necks or 57 American Vintage reissues. The fingerboard edges were heavily rolled to provide the ultra comfortable broken-in feel found on well played vintage guitars or Custom Shop instruments. Warmoth does not offer rolled edges, Musikraft and USACG offer some very light rolling which is just a gimmick as far as feel is concerned. I further rolled the fingerboard edges for an exquisite feel and comfort which you simply don't get from neck coming directly of of the aforementioned custom shops. The fingerboard has the modern 9.5" fingerboard radius found on Eric Clapton Strat necks for fast soloing and string bending without fretting out. The nut is hand made and cut from self lubricating white Delrin which greatly improves tuning stability while retaining the look of bone nuts. It sports a brand new set of Gotoh Kluson style chrome tuners ordered from Warmoth Guitar Products. Finally it is finished with thin nitrocellulose lacquer with the surface finely sanded to a satin finish, the result is an incredibly smooth finish resulting in a fast playing, and since there is far less friction thatn glossy necks string bending is effortless Payment: I accept payment via Paypal only.
