If you're looking for one of the best-made vertical (upright) pianos in the world, you've found it here -a JULIUS FEURICH model 123 in high polish ebony. This instrument is brand new, and was made in the Feurich factory in Gunzenhausen, Germany. This is a piano for those who don't care for the bright, loud sound of Asian or American pianos, and want something with a rounder, more mellow European-type tone. This is a piano for those who don't like the idea of mass-produced instruments, and want the quality that goes into an instrument lovingly crafted by a few artisans in a small workshop-style factory. Julius Feurich pianos rank among the finest in the world. They are custom-built in small quantities. The company was founded in 1851and is still run by the 5th generation of the Feurich family. The present day Julius Feurich, great-great grandson of the founder, personally supervises production and inspects every piano he sells. The tone and touch, fit and finish of this instrument are superb. In Europe, the name is well-known and highly respected, and its quality and price rank it among the best and most expensive handcrafted vertical instruments - those made by Bosendorfer, Bechstein, Bluthner, Grotrian, Pleyel, Sauter, Schimmel, Hamburg Steinway, and Steingraeber. From the highly respected "The Piano Book" by Larry Fine: "This venerable German manufacturer is once again making pianos in its own factory. All Feurich pianos feature Renner actions, Bavarian spruce soundboards, and extraordinary cabinetwork. They have an unusually large dynamic range, a lush sound with many overtones at pianissimo and a more fundamental tone toward forte." This piano has a 'European' piano sound; it doesn't have the power or volume of Asian or American pianos, but makes up for that in sweetness of voice, and the ability to draw many nuances of tone color and a wide dynamic range from it. The action or touch is even, light and very responsive. I'm offering this piano at a very special price, about the same you'd pay for a new Asian piano of the same size. The MSRP of this piano and comparable hand-crafted European verticals is normally about 3 times this amount. The reason for the low price is I'm a piano technician, not a dealer, I acquired it through my work and it's taking up needed space in my shop. This makes an opportunity for you to get a super high quality piano at a bargain price. The piano is 48 1/2" tall, 59" wide, 23" deep.
