Description
Official CE Winds Florida Auctionsfrom Christopher Elliott Inc Gold Plate Tenor Saxophone MouthpieceSize 5 (Tip opening .08) We request only the best materials available to give you the right sound, intonation, and projection, all things we know you seek as a musician. We guarantee you will like the sound produced by this mouthpiece, and you'll have better range and versatility no matter what you play. We have had positive feedback from professional players, technicians, teachers, all saying they love these pieces!Item description: The baffle is a "roll over" type, and it goes all the way to the chamber opening, where it drops off in a small semi-circle shape. The chamber is medium-large. Underneath the rails is "straight", not "scooped out". The facing is medium-long.Most important to is how all the factors come together. I would describe the playability as easy and versatile. The sound can be dark, but it can also be played a little brighter. So that would put the sound right in between dark and bright. It depends on the individual player's approach, reed, and horn. These mouthpieces are "easy to control", and have little or no "buzz", which allows the player to produce a clear and rich sound. That is what makes these great mouthpieces. Recent Customer Reviews07/08/2008 - "Your new gold plated saxophone metal mouthpieces are the best mouthpieces I have ever played and are very reasonably priced. I have played the Guardalas, Links, Sugals, etc. and always went back to my old Brilhart hard rubber Tonalin mouthpiece on the tenor sax. But now I am using your tenor mouthpiece #7 and it plays wonderfully. I like your soprano sax #6 mouthpiece for certain occasions and am looking forward to trying a #7 and/or #8. I attended Berklee College of Music from 1958 through 1970 and studied with Joe Viola most of those twelve years. I am very lucky that for my entire life I have made my living solely by performing on saxophones and clarinet. I have been the leader of the Bourbon Street Paraders Jazz Band since 1975 and lead my own duo and trio  around the Cape Cod and Boston area. We perform at least five or six nights a week, year round. I am now sixty-two years of age so have had a lot of experience playing and performing on soprano and tenor saxophones and I fully endorse and use your new saxophone mouthpieces. Regards, Lee Childs, Yarmouthport, MA" 7/9/2008 - "Hope all is well.  Just a note to give you an update (as I promised). Love the tenor and alto mouthpieces!  Thanks to you, my alto has been returned to heavy use since receiving the new mouthpiece.  It's like getting a new horn and it's great!  Have received many good comments relative to tone on both tenor and alto, plus the altissimo for the alto is now as easy to command and access as it has always been for my tenor. It is interesting that it seems that precise reed placement is much more critical on these units than my old Berg(tenor) and Selmer(alto).  'Might be my imagination, but the CE m'pieces really "open up" dramatically when that "sweet spot" reed placement is exactly found.  I'm sure it's affected in some way by the strength reed I'm using ( Fibracell 5.5 on tenor and 4.5 on alto).  Anyway, thank you again for all your flexibility and advice.  I'm really looking forward to getting hands on a 7 or 8 for my Soprano.  I'm anticipating the same significant difference I've experienced with the other horns. Take care. Tom Ross Columbia, SC"   7/20/2008 Hello Mark,I wanted to let you know that I am very happy to have discovered your mouthpieces! I've been playing them on all my gigs, from soft to loud, Jazz to Rock/Blues, and they have been ideal for every situation. I'll be telling every sax player I know to buy one! They are a perfect match for your GREAT line of horns! I wish you lots of success with all of your great products! Thank You!  John Michalak www.saxJAM.com   8/14/2008  I have purchased both the alto and tenor CE Winds Gold Plate mouthpieces. I had done a recording recently and felt like I was fighting my current tenor pieces so I emailed Brian a ton of questions. I could tell in a couple of minutes that it has a depth of tone that my current piece doesn't have. Like a good Link I had to "find" my tone with air and throat voicing but I can tell that the Tenor piece has a good tone that I can develop into a great tone. Now the Alto piece was a surprise. I frankly didn't expect much since I had heard that links didn't work on altos. So, I took off my Beechler 5 and put on the Size 7. What a  difference. Not only do I love the tone but I feel more connected to my horn than I ever have. Like its a voice rather than just a sax. So, I'm ecstatic with my alto piece and very happy with the tenor. Thanks Brian, Keith Ridenhour  www.kride.com (PS  I have a Music Ed degree and played professionally many years ago. (30) I've played in local bands at wineries, clubs, events, and private affairs for the last 12 years. We require that ALL Musical Instrument Shipped Domestic and International have insurance purchased for the purchased value. We pack and ship each instrument with care, but cannot be responsible what happens to it once it leaves our address. Unfortunatly, some carriers don't care whats inside the box,and treat it accordingly. Also, it is recommended that anyone that purchases a saxophone and then has it shipped; get it adjusted and checked over at your local music store.  Many times minor adjustments can be made by even yourself with little effort.  We have heard of many instances where a buyer has purchased a major brand saxophone like a Selmer Reference 54 for over $4,500 and when it arrived it didn't even play.  I only mention this to help bring awareness to anybody looking to purchase a saxophone.  If it arrives and has some issues playing.. do not jump to conclusions and assume the sax is defective or the dealer misled you.   We request that payment be made within 48 Hours of the auction end, or that you at least contact us and let us which payment method you will be using.
