Manufacturer/Markings:  Unknown. Approximate date is 1920-30.  Description: This wonderful piece of ethnic African American folk art is unique indeed. With metal mechanics, as the wind turns the windmill end, the dancer dances and the banjo player moves his arm and leg. It has been attached with a metal rod to a large piece of wood for stability and can be easily pulled out. Both sides of the figures are covered with paper that in places, has come off. The rest of the windmill has been painted.   WONDERFUL!     Size: Length of item is 20 inches; height from top of windmill to bottom of stand, 13 inches. Figures are 8-9.5 inches. The stand is quite heavy as it is a solid piece of wood, and is 12X4X4. The shipping weight INCLUDES the stand. If the stand is not included, the price of shipping will go down however either way, this is a oversize box and therefore more to ship than a normal sized piece. Condition: This will depend on how you like your folk art. We have not done anything to it. One of the arms on the banjo player is missing - which we never even noticed! There is paper wear. You may or may not want to fix the wood on the mill as pieces are missing. It could also use a good wash as it was outside for a long time in a North Carolina yard. The paint and most of the paper is still quite bright in color and it works very well.  Please ask for additional photos.
