Description
Let's start here: June 24, 2004 Christies Auction house in NYC. Clapton sells off most of his guitar collection to benefit his Crossroads foundation. Sound familiar? Who were the big winners that day? Certainly the Crossroads foundation & certainly Guitar Center. Guitar Center paid $959,500 for Blackie & is said to have turned down a $2,000,000 offer since then. They replicated the guitar & sold them out in 7 hrs. on 12/24/06 at a cost of $20,000 each.  They paid $847,500 for Claptons 335, replicated it & sold them out on 7/30/05 in less than 72 hrs. They were $12,000 at the time. They recently replicated SRV's "Lenny" & it is selling for $17,000. Total was 61 sold as of X-mas day. They paid $623,000 for Lenny at the auction. Many of you may have one of these replica guitars. Some of you may have 2 of them & a very few of you may have all 3. But did you know that GC also bought a Martin 00-21 acoustic guitar at the Crossroads Auction? Some of you probably know this. George Harrison had given Clapton this guitar many years before. GC paid $89,625 for the guitar at Christies. Here is a very well kept secret. GC sent the acoustic to Martin for a replication. Martin made (1) prototype & sent it back to GC. It was determined by GC that the asking price would have to be in the $30,000 range for the replica's & this was just not a sellable product. They scrapped the idea because  the cost to the consumer was just to high. Well, you are looking at the Harrison/Clapton Martin Prototype. I have been told, from a very reliable source, that the GC has been offered as much as 250K for the original. Guitar will ship in OHSC, along with all documentation. The guitar comes from my personal collection & has not been played.   Please check my feedback. If that doesn't give you confidence to bid, then you really should not buy a guitar on Ebay. Please do not send me any low ball offers, I will not accept them. This is the price. Payment to be made by USPS money orders, Bank Cashiers check, (Paypal via E-check only), or Wire transfer only.  Shipping will be $130 (via overnight air) to the lower 48 (US). Shipping to Europe or Australia is $220. Elsewhere needs a quote.      Less than 10 feedbacks or 96% positive feedback rating must email for bid permission
