Description
If your tired of watching your financial assets go down because of the current insanity in Washington, maybe a high end guitar will make you sleep better at night. At least you have something to show for your hard earned dollars. I talked to two high end guitar dealers today and they both told me the high end guitar market was still doing quite well and sales have actually increased the last couple of weeks as customers have exited the stock market. While guitars may still be a great investment, if your a player, it has to be more then that, and I can report that this guitar is by far the best acoustic guitar I have owned. And if you follow my auctions, you know I have owned some great guitars. But I need to raise some funds so my loss is your gain. This auction is for my Mario Beauregard OM model with cutaway built in 2006 and its his most popular model. Mario is a one man shop located in Canada. He apprenticed with Ervin Somogyi, and has stayed fairly true to the Somogyi designs, both aesthetically and tonally. He has obviously come into his own and you do not find these on the market for long. And it doesn't hurt that his guitars are about half the price of a Somogyi (25k for a new Somogyi) but with that rich, extremely open sound that Somogyi is known for. So you can save a few grand and not have to wait for a new one as this one is a tone monster!! Here is an email from Mario where he talks about this specific guitar: "When I finish a guitar I always write the spec such as the deflection of the top....and I have a comment section in my notes and according to my comments on that guitar ,it was very successful in terms of sound and playability, it actually was opened right out of the gate". So you got a good one here!! . High-grade Brazilian Rosewood back and sides with an incredibly beautiful European spruce top. This one has a cutaway, with maple and abalone rosette, Brazilian rosewood front faceplate overlay, figured Maple back headstock overlay(very cool looking). Gold Schaller tuning machines with Ebony buttons, ebony fretboard with fine purfling outline, 1 3/4" nut width; 2 1/4" string spacing at the saddle. Ebony body and fingerboard binding round out the spec's. The guitar has breathtaking overtones that add a real lush character as the notes sustain and sustain as you would expect from Brazilian rosewood. You've never heard trebles like this, they just airlift into oblivion. This guitar has a great neck and feel, the action is low and plays with the greatest of ease, with a very fast smooth neck and fretboard. This guitar is nothing short of spectacular and I am probably crazy for letting it go. Mario is one of today's premier builders and this is an excellent representation of his work. It plays beautifully, voicing chords and picking with equal quality. I love the fact that notes fingered up the neck sound as full and clear as if played with an open string. Its a great fingerstyle guitar but can handle a pick with no problems. In terms of condition, its near mint! Someone will be getting a killer sounding guitar with this one. Comes with an older Calton hard case in excellent condition. Research my perfect high feedback (mostly guitars) and bid with the utmost confidence. Buyer pays by certified check or money order, Personal check also fine but obviously must clear before shipping. Buyer to pay $70 for FedEx ground shipping with full insurance. Fast shipping options also available and really preferred even with the flight case. If your interested in paypal, please email and we can discuss. Int'l buyers to pay via bank wire transfer in advance. International buyers should email in advance so I can give you a accurate shipping quote. Good luck. You won't be disappointed with this one!
