A member of the family who have been balladeers in Williamsburg for 2 generations is the owner of this fine lute The lute measures 39 inches long, 12 inches wide and 5 inches deep. It is in very good condition....except for a burn mark on the back of the fret (pictured) that happened when a candle in Josiah Chowning's Tavern in Williamsburg caught it on fire during a performance by the owner.
