This trumpet was in good condition when it found it, with two exceptions.  The mouthpiece receiver was chipped and the leadpipe had red rot.  With LA Benges, this is fairly common.  I had Charlie Melk replace the receiver and leadpipe with his new replacement parts.  The leadpipe is an exact copy of the original and the receiver is slightly heavier than the original.  The gap has been adjusted on these new parts and this horn now has new life. The valves are very smooth on this trumpet and the compression is very good.  The silver plating is in very good condition.  There is evidence of some minor dent removal on the bell (which is also very common on these thin bells) but there is not any scarring or stretching of the metal to indicate significant past dent work. Engraving is sharp.  All  slides operate smoothly.   Has a sound as you would expect from a large bore lightweight horn, so it isn't for the faint of heart.  If you have  been looking for a great playing CG Benge, this might be your horn. Comes with original double handle case in very good condition.
