This guitar is one of those under the bed kept collector pieces that shows virtually no signs of playing wear. It is a true collector guitar. I challenge you to find one from this period that is cleaner. You won't be able to! This is as close to new for a 38-39 year old guitar that you will ever find. It has all of the features of a late 1969 model except that the pots date to the 10th week of 1970. I just sold a pure 1969 model (1969 pots) that is exactly like this one (including a tiny volute) except for the dates on the pots. Plays like butter and sounds just as good. In fact, the neck is straight as an arrow and the action is super low. A guy recently bought 4 of my old Les Paul Customs from the same period. When he came over to pick them up, I let him play this one, and all he could do is just drool. He said it looks as new as many of the guitars hanging on the wall at Guitar Center. Has SMALL volute, but does NOT have Made in USA on back of head. Open lettering in the head stock logo, no dot. Pancake body. 3 piece top. Mahogany neck, medium profile. Gibson patent number bridge with nylon saddles. Light weight tail piece. Witch hat knobs. Waffle back tuners. Gibson sticker patent pickups. Fretless wonder frets.
